PROJECT: CHONGQING THEME PARK
LOCATION: CHONGQING, CHINA

COLLABORATION: PCDI Architects, Shanghai, WANDA Research and Design Institute
Landscape masterplanning and detail design for a new theme park set in a great existing landscape setting, with natural escarpments and areas of remnant bamboo forest and natural vegetation, which were retained and protected. Local culture and landscape character were developed as the main precinct themes – including a 3 Gorges landscape precinct; a forest hilltop fairy kingdom; hot chilli land; the ancient Ba Yu 3 Kingdoms warrior land; and the animal farm precinct. The Wanda ‘IP’ characters were transformed into famous 3 kingdoms identities.
The theme park is currently under construction.
