PROJECT: : SHANGRAO WILDLIFE THEME PARK AND RESORT

Site assessment, theme park masterplanning, and detailed concept design for a large wildlife theme park. The site is located on a former ‘pig farm’ complex. But it has a beautiful hilly topography; remnant forest areas, and an ideallic valley lake. The theme park centred on an ‘animal town’ hub, with town hall auditorium; village shops and lake side ‘Animal town’; The other main precincts included a Monkey King Kingdom; a ‘Black and White’ animal precinct with giant pandas as the stars; a safari valley; a mountain top castle family hotel; a circus precinct; a childrens farm; and a lakeside 5- Star hotel resort. The remnants of an existing traditional farm village were restored to provide a base for the local site farmer/animal stewards; with new guesthouse accommodation for school children and other visitor groups.
