PROJECT: WUHAN DONGHU HAN JIE

Included initial masterplanning of the Wanda Groups massive Donghu tourism area, set on Donghu Lake.
The mixed use tourist precinct included the lake surrounds, and extensive parkland; the various ferry harbour terminals; extensive parkland; residential luxury apartment living precinct and street network; Wanda Plaza stand alone shopping complex, Wanda Realm 5 Star Hotel; the Han Show Theatre – an internationally famous water based entertainment extravaganza; and the Dong Hu Han Jie – a kilometre long traditional Chinese and ultra contemporary pedestrian shopping street, set adjacent to the wide river canal.  The main components of the masterplan continued through to detail design – a major commission. The design of the Han Jie pedestrian street, included the integration of local cultural aspects, such as entry gateways; bronze paving interpretation insets, and sculptures of important local historic identities.
