PROJECT: YARRA PARK LANDSCAPE UPGRADE

Landscape masterplanning, detail design and preparation of a management plan for the entire MCG Yarra Park parkland surrounds. Prior to commencement of the upgrade works, a detailed landscape assessment and masterplan needed to be undertaken and submitted for approval to the City of Melbourne; Heritage Victoria and the East of Melbourne residents committee. The works included upgrade to the MCG concourses; footpath network upgrade; mature tree management and replacement works; upgrade to grassland parking surfaces, with new subgrade preparation and drainage; automatic irrigation with recycled water to the entire parkland area; and new parkland lighting; park furniture replacement; upgrade of the park entrances with new identification signage, and interpretation and wayfinding signage.
